Ambidexterity in micro and small firms: Can competitive intelligence compensate for size constraints?

Ambidexterity has been linked to firm structures that are typical of organizations with a larger size. However, further research is needed analyze whether the effect size on ambidexterity contingent other aspects. We argue micro and small firms have developed some competitive intelligence routines (CIRs) may foster ambidextrous behavior compensate for limitations arising from smaller lack resources. test our proposal sample 200 in furniture sector. Our results show CIRs constraints no longer relevant variable increase achieve higher levels these routines. provide new important insights into how be fostered resource slack or ability use separate units develop knowledge exploration exploitation activities.
